SALEM, Va. — The Washington and Lee men’s track team competed in the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke and the Keydet Invitational hosted by VMI on Friday. Senior Joe O’Connor (Henrico, Va./Douglas Freeman) led the Generals in taking first place in the pole vault in Salem.
- O’Connor cleared 15’5.00″ (4.70m) to take first place by nearly a yard at the Finn Pincus Meet. Also at Roanoke Friday, sophomore Mark Waller (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook) placed fifth in the high jump at 1.75m (5’8.75″).
- At VMI, the Blue and Whites finished fifth in the medley relay with a time of 10:45.82. The quartet was made up of juniors Connor Verret (Cockeysville, Maryland/Loyola Blakefield) and Matthew Todd (Cumberland Foreside, Maine/Greely), second year Chris Ruiz (Highland Lakes, NJ/Township of Vernon) and Senior Nick Watson (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus Academy).
